Home > Programs > Computer Donations > Computer Scholarships Computer ScholarshipsOTI co-sponsors Computer Scholarships for disadvantaged students. Without access to a home computer, many students are unable to complete their coursework. Some disadvantaged students are single mothers who work full time, go to school, rely on public transportation and raise their children. Many disadvantaged students rely on crowded computer labs, friends, libraries and other means to complete course assignments. Receiving a computer can have a significant positive impact on their lives and the lives of those who depend on them.
Computers donated to OTI's Computer Donations Program are refurbished by OTI's CompTechS interns and staff. Students are selected by the Financial Aid Office at DeAnza or Foothill Colleges to receive a refurbished computer through a simple application process. Depending on availability, students receive a desktop or laptop computer.
OTI cannot take responsibility for the condition of any computer equipment once the student accepts it. To apply for a computer, contact the Financial Aid Office at DeAnza Financial Aid or Foothill Financial Aid. To donate a computer, please read the Computer Donation page for information on hardware and software specifications. For additional information, contact: Susan Malmgren at 408-864-5713 or malmgrensusan@fhda.edu.
